Chromebooks

Most Chromebook issues can be resolved by updating and resetting the browser to its default settings.

To update Google Chrome:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More.
  3. Click Help and then About Google Chrome.

The current version number is the series of numbers beneath the “Google Chrome” heading. Chrome will check for updates when you’re on this page.

Click Relaunch to apply any available update.

To reset Google Chrome:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More and thenSettings.
  3. At the bottom, click Advanced.
  4. Under the section “Reset,” click Reset.
  5. Confirm by clicking Reset. ​
Adobe Flash (Chrome)

Step One

Copy and paste or manually enter the below link into your URL bar:

chrome://settings/content/flash

Note: To copy and paste, click and drag  your cursor to highlight the text then press ctrl+c to copy and ctrl+v to paste.

Make sure Allow sites to run Flash is set to ON and Ask first is set to OFF as seen below.

PLEASE NOTE: If these settings are grayed out and unable to be changed, your device is managed by our school and has had this step completed for you already. Please proceed to step two regardless.

Step Two

Copy and paste or manually enter the below link into your URL bar:

chrome://flags/#run-all-flash-in-allow-mode

Note: To copy and paste, click and drag your cursor to highlight the text then press ctrl+c to copy and ctrl+v to paste.

Change the Run all Flash content when Flash setting is set to “allow” setting to Enabled as seen below and then click the button that appears prompting you to restart Chrome.

Edgenuity

If you are encountering problems with Edgenuity, start by checking the status of their systems here:

If a system is down or degraded:

Edgenuity’s technicians will work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. There is nothing more to attempt on your end.

If all systems are operational:

Some courses require additional plugins. Check if you have the needed plugins here:

Make sure the computer you are using meets Edgenuity’s minimum system requirements as outlined here:

If you are using an iPad, Chromebook or Android device, check to make sure the course you are experiencing issues in is supported on your device:

Finally, you may need to attempt some of the steps outlined in the connectivity tab of this self help document.

Connectivity

Connectivity issues are often temporary. Most issues will resolve themselves given some time, but if not the below steps may help.

First, restart your computer. If the problem persists, the next easiest step is to try using a different browser as certain programs may work better with some browser than others.

Should the issue remain unresolved,  start by verifying your connection speed here:

Internet Speed Test

If your speeds are poor you may need to power cycle your router. This is done by simply unplugging the router for 60 seconds, then plugging it back in. If this does not help you will need to contact your ISP.

If your speeds are adequate, try clearing your cache. Instructions on how to do this for many browsers may be found here:

If this does not help, the next step depends on your operating system.
